Following my annual pattern of exploring another part of the Alps I hadn’t visited yet, last winter’s stint lead me to Rofan, a mountain range east of Lake Achen. It is similar to the neighbouring Karwendel region, with some rather dramatic cliffs that compensate for its limited size. I was lucky with the weather, there being enough snow to make for a nice scenery but keeping the trails still in a walkable condition.
