Elbsandstein

Every now and then alpinism gets a little boring if you do it too often. But still, those hiking boots are made for walkin’, and for doing so the closest acceptable elevation that is not a mall escalator is the Elbsandsteingebirge in Saxony. It consists of hundreds of sandstone columns and blocks steep enough to make you sweat. It’s also one of the oldest rock climbing areas of the world, known for barely secured routes and crazy ascends. I played it save and chose the hiking trails.
